Privacy Policy
Effective August 18, 2026. Your Own Library is published by Cerebra Enterprises LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). The app is designed to keep your personal library private and on your device.
Information stored on your device
Your catalog, book-copy details, shelves and locations, notes, reading status, loan records, captured cover images, import/export files, settings, and Ask My Library activity are stored locally. They remain until you change or delete them through normal app use, remove exported files, or delete the app.
Book metadata requests
When an ISBN is not already available locally, the app sends that ISBN and a random per-install identifier to our book-metadata service. The identifier is used only for short-lived fair-use rate limiting; it is not an account, is not combined with your library, and is not stored in the bibliographic catalog. The service may retain the ISBN as part of a shared bibliographic record, or retain an unsuccessful ISBN lookup for up to 24 hours before retrying. These records are not linked to you.
The service uses Cloudflare infrastructure and may request bibliographic data from Open Library. Network providers necessarily process limited technical information, such as an IP address and request time, to deliver and secure requests. When the app displays a remotely hosted book cover, the credited cover provider may receive the ordinary technical information needed to serve that image.
On-device features
Barcode recognition, Shelf Scan text recognition, cover capture, catalog search, and Ask My Library recommendations run on your device. Shelf and cover photos are not uploaded by the app. Ask My Library does not send your books or questions to an AI service.
Purchases
Complete Library purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment-card number. Apple may provide the app with transaction status needed to unlock or restore the purchase.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We do not create public profiles or require an account.
- We do not use your catalog to advertise to you.
Your choices
You can use the core catalog without creating an account. You may export your library, edit or delete records in the app, and delete the app to remove its local data. For privacy questions or requests about information you voluntarily send to support, contact us below.
